*Sunshine*
Present on this earth, a great sadness lies among us.
The darkness of our hearts, the tears of the world,
Deprived on sunshine to battle foes of old,
Anger and hate, vengeance and revenge,
All at a cost free of forgiveness and light from heaven.
Sunlight lights the darkest skies,
Brings truth to where once were lies,
Warmth to the cold and hope to all,
This sunshine seems to elude us all.
There is a shallow fib,
That all the people here on earth believe,
That when the sun comes out, it’s called the light of day,
And it makes all the darkness go away,
They refuse to see that the darkness is here to stay.
Sunlight lights the darkest skies,
Brings truth to where once were lies,
Warmth to the cold and hope to all,
This sunshine seems to elude us all.
Here we are in the dark,
We can’t see a thing, but a dim fading spark,
Our whole lives we spend blindly heading to it,
We must not give up no matter the temptation to do it,
For without the sunshine, it’s all we are left with.

Look over there,
There’s a hole in the wall,
Shining through it, it’s where darkness falls,
It’s the light of the day, the fire of hope
